Stamp Collecting or philately as it is sometimes called is the pursuit of collecting, arranging and studying postage stamps, stamped envelopes sometimes known as covers and other items used in various Countries all over the World at different times to effect prepayment for letters or packets through the Post .It is  a pastime that attracts not only adults but children alike.

Philately is the study of postage stamps and or postal issues and their production Those who collect and study postage stamps and or postal issues are known as Philatelists while those who collect postage stamps as souvenirs are known as Stamp Collectors.

There three basic ways of collecting postage stamps.

 1. General Collection - collecting postage stamps or possibly   postal issues of all countries and periods. saving all items that may come your way.

 2. Country collecting - collecting the postage stamps of one particular or few countries, sometimes specialising in particular period or time.

 3. Thematic/Topical collecting - collecting stamps of all countries that have a certain design, subject. for example, flora and fauna, sports, birds animals, transport etc

 4. stamp accumulating -  the acceptance of  any stamp that comes accumulator's way regardless of country, time period or subject, the accumulator  is not a general collector. he is a stamp accumulator,

A new collector may not be sure of what kind of stamps to collect. it is however advisable that one should acquire and study as many different stamps as one can because the experience gained will help to grasp the fundamentals of the subject.Later on one can decide to concentrate on a single country's issues or of a group of countries.

Basically, stamps are of three types namely..

 1. Definitive - the everyday stamps.

2. Commemorative -  Larger-sized stamps issued to mark a particular anniversary or event.

3. Specials - Larger-sized stamps issued to depict the life of a Country, bits animals, buildings, scenery etc.

To start a stamp collection, one will need a packet or collection of stamps. the stamp packet you will get from a Stamp Dealer. a  collection of stamps may be sourced from friends, family members etc. the beginner will also need an album, stock book, tweezers/stamp tongs and possibly hinges. Most of these accessories are usually contained in a "starter pack' for beginners.

You should become very familiar with the use of your tweezers/stamp tongs.Get used to handling your stamps with your tweezers/stamp tongs. Most fingers have some grease and moisture on them which could spoil your stamps if picked ordinarily by hands. HAVE FUN COLLECTING.

The Postage Stamp As An Ideal Mail Order Product.

Posted by moseszee on April 1, 2011 at 11:07 PM Comments comments (0)

this is an extract from my ebook ' The Beginner's Guide To A Profitable Stamp Business. Please read, digest and kindly pass it on....

Postage stamps for collectors are undoubtedly one of the very best mail-order products to handle. They are readily available, easy to store, easy to package and easy to mail. There are, however, a few facts which are extremely important that I would like to discuss at this stage.

Philatelists or Stamp Collectors are very quality-conscious people. Stamps must be handled with the greatest of care because nobody is going to buy your stamps if they are in any way damaged. Very little indeed is needed to tender a stamp useless in the eyes of a collector. A saleable stamp must be collectable – this means that it must be in perfect condition with

complete perforations; it must be clean and with no marks and there must be no creases or tears.

Collectors prefer well-centred stamps. This means that the design area should not be touched by the perforations and it should be exactly in the middle of the stamp. Most collectors prefer to collect mint stamps in post-fresh condition. An unmounted mint stamp is a stamp in the condition it was in a post office book of stamps. To many collectors the gummed side is as important as the front. They do not want the gum to be disturbed in any way. Pre – 1950

stamps were usually mounted onto the album page by means of a peelable hinge. This is usually not the case today.

A mint stamp that has been hinged or mounted usually sells for far less than an unmounted mint stamp. This is particularly true when it comes to modern issues. Stamps that are more than 50 years old were usually hinged and that is their normal condition. Old mint stamps that have pristine gum are normally worth quite a lot more than hinged stamps. The relation between a hinged and an unhinged stamp is sometimes incredibly big.

I would like to suggest that you start with unmounted mint stamps until you have learnt more about which stamps are acceptable in mounted condition too. The same high quality standards are valid for used stamps as well. Collectors of used stamps prefer circular

postmarks. The postmark must not be smudged.

It is of vital to keep these quality standards in mind. If your stamps are of inferior quality people will stop buying from you. On the other hand, if you provide good quality stamps to your customers and if your prices are right they are to remain with you for as long as you can deliver new stamps to their collections.

How I Successfuly Planned And Had A Date With The One Of My Colleagues.

Posted by moseszee on August 14, 2010 at 10:29 PM Comments comments (0)

This piece is not written to judge the morality or otherwise of dating a colleague in the same office even if she had been a married lady or not.

I met this lady. We developed interest in each other. I wanted

to appreciate her further. I decided to give her a date.

Before inviting her for a date, I have set for myself some

guiding principles. I should know why I have decided to

invite her for a date. When my purpose was clearly defined, I

should be able express myself without any ambeguity but in

a comfortable disposition.

If she had said No to my invitation, I was not to be embittered

in any way. She would still continue to enjoy the respect, mutual cordiality and decorum that we had for each other.

I made up my mind that under no circumstances would I use alcohol to boost my confidence in talking to her. This might be counter productive. I would not want to present myself as a man who lacked confidence in himself or a possible drunk who might eventualy turned out as a violent man. A man not worth to be in company with.

I was never going to ask her for a date when she was in the

mist of her friends or colleagues. If I did, I might put her on the spot and she might probably become embarrased and

rather confused. Discretion should always be better than valour.

I had the most of the details of the date in mind. I would not

want to put myself in a position of being unable to respond

properly or answer whenever she asked  me why I was asking her out.

I would not want to be a flatterer but make sure I made her good. That would surely show her how thoughtful I was.

I was not ready to put pressure on her to go out with me.

When the time came and my strategy quite in place, I approached her discreetly for a date. She accepted beaming with a smile as if she had been expecting it.  The date was a complete success. We had a very good time.

Collecting Stamps Need Not Be An Expensive Hobby......

Posted by moseszee on August 14, 2010 at 10:24 PM Comments comments (0)

Worldwide, thousands of postage stamps are issued annualy in various designs, forms and different in values. Some may be in complete sets or singIes. While some of these postage stamps may be expensive, others are available for a few cents.

No one is expected to collect every issue in existence. Your best approach to stamp collecting is for you to collect whatever you will appreciate and enjoy most.

You may start your hobby with free stamps sourced from your relations, friends and neighbors. However, you may be required to buy a small stamp album or a stock book. A packet of stamp hinges may be desirable too.

There are a lot of articles on stamp collecting available on the Net. May I suggest that you visit both the websites of American Philatelic Society and  International Society of Worldwide Stamp Collectors (ISWSC).

You should not forget to even request  for gifts of  stamps, stamp albums, and hinges from your parents, relations and friends for your birthday or special occasions like Easter and Christmas.

You should always bear it in mind that the so called inexpensive stamps in the yester years have turned out to become very valuable over the years.

Who knows what will become of your collection tomorrow. Only time can tell.

My Very Great School: King's College: A vision and philosophy.

Posted by moseszee on August 12, 2010 at 6:38 AM Comments comments (0)

VIEWPOINT

By J.K.RANDLE.

It is of utmost importance to establish right at the outset that King's College Lagos, Nigeria is not the product of happenstance. neither did it evolve from voltanic eruption. History makes it abundantly clear that both in conception and delivery of the baby, the parent(the British colonial government) was delibrate.

Indeed the proclamation was by an act of the British Parliament

to wit: on the ninth year of the new century (09 hours on September 9, 1909), a college shall be established in Lagos,  Nigeria and called the King's school."

The arrival of the baby was actually delayed until September 20, 1909. The baby carried an indelible identity tag which spelled out its mission.'To produce educated gentlemen and leaders to  assist in running the colonial government'.For the avoidance of  doubt and the enthronement of clarity, we must record that what existed at the time was the Colony of Lagos together with the Southern and Northern protectorates. The amagamation of Nigeria followed five years later in 1914. Consequently the mandate of King's College was automatically extended to cover the whole nation.

Perhaps we should for record purposes acknowledge that the CMS Grammar School had been founded50 years earlier(1859) and St Gregory's College would follow in 1928. As for Barewa College which was  founded in 1921.its mission statement was as blunt as it was

forthright. "To educate the children of rulers(Emirs) of the North". Hence, its students' roll was a recitation of princes of the various emirates with a few exceptions which were restricted to members of their extended families and sons of  district heads. Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto who became the first Premier of Northern Nigeria was admitted in 1926 while Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the first Prime Minister of Nigeria followed in 1928.

This was a sharp contrast to King's College whose doors were wide open to whoever merited admission through a transparent process. Therefore it was only a matter of time for the vision and philosophy to cry stallise into clearly defined aspirations which were elegantly captured in the school song 'Service To  Our Living, honour to the dead". The obvious translation is that King's School has metamorphosed into King's College and much more importantly to an incubator, a laboratory and  preparation ground for the steady production of those who  would provide service to the nation and do justice to the  memory of their forefathers, their ancestors and their  predecessors by following the the trail they had "emblazoned'

Fortunately and fortuitously, when the components of the vision and philosoph were subjected to the search light, what emergedwas the commitment to the development of sound minds in sound bodies not as a self self-serving slogan but a touchstone for what we now recognise as (human) capacity building - the selection and preparation of those who would drive monumental task of nation building through selfless and exemplary leadership. It became self-evident that the vital currency for the fulfillment of the vision and the anchor sheet of the  philosophy was character based on the record of each student in the classroom and on the sports field. For evey student,  there was ample room for the demostration of excellence.

For a hundred years, King's College has been driven by enduring commitment. In latin to hope. 'Spero Lucem" which in English translates to: 'I hope for light". We are entitled to hold tenaciously to the belief that indeed there is light at the end of the tunnel - though our nation continues relentlessly to tunnel into darkness, rage and despair.

How instructive,  is the lesson of history when we reflect on that poignant moment in the midst of the Nigerian civil war. On one side of negotiating table in Kampala, Uganda were the head of  state of Biafra, General Emeka Ojukwo and Sir Louis Mbanefo (Chief Justice) and on the Nigerian side: the leader Chief Anthony Enahore(Minister of Information), Chief Wenike Briggs(Minister of Education),Alhaji Femi Okunnu(Minister of Works), and Allison Ayida(Permanent Secretay Finance). All of them were old boys of King;s College.

On at least - - religion. KING'S cOLLEGE has remained an  unrepentant citadel of tolarance as exemplified by the  then Oluwole Rotimi(Christian Panes House) and Lateef Adegbite(Moslem Hyde Johnson). Throught their sojourn at King;s College, they were inseparable.Almost like

siamese twins. The former became the military governor of Western Region antil very recently our ambassador to the United States Of America. As for the latter, he was once the chairman of the Nigerian Olympic Committe and for many years, the Secretary General f Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Nigeria.

Sadly when President Umuaru Yar'Adua removed Brigadier Oluwole Rotimi as our ambassador to the United States of America, the vacancy should have been filled by another King's College old boy and also ex- Hyde  Johnson House - Olorogun (Dr) SF Kuku. Like Brigadier Rotimi, he hails from Ogun State. We have to avoid the mistakes of the past.In 2011, we must install an Old Boy of King's College as the President of Nigeria. Barewa boys needs not apply - FLOREAT.

How Great Is The Hobby Of Stamp Collecting?.

Posted by moseszee on June 22, 2010 at 2:13 PM Comments comments (0)

How Great Is The Hobby Of Stamp Collecting?. Indeed there is no doubt about stamp collecting being the Greatest Hobby On Earth.

What is Stamp Collecting or Philately?.. Stamp Collecting or Philately as it is called is the pursuit of collecting, arranging and studying postage stamps, stamped envelopes and other items used in various Countries of the World at different times to effect prepayment of letters through the Post.

Stamp Collecting unlike games of football, cricket and squash-racket is a pastime that attracts not only the interests of adults but children alike. Kings, Queens, the rich and the poor.

It is a mistaken belief to regard Stamp Collecting as only Children Hobby. It may interest you to learn that participation at certain stages of the hobby are very much beyond the capacities of children as would their participation in test cricket matches etc.

Stamp Collecting or Philately is the study of stamps, their production. It has developed into two broad groups - those who collect and study stamps and those who collect stamps as souvenirs.

A new collector may not be sure of what kind of stamps to collect. It is however advisable that he should acquire and study as many different stamps as he can because the experience gained will help him to grasp the fundamentals of the subject.

Later on, he can decide upon concentrating on a single country's issues or those of a group. To engage in this hobby, physical condition is of no vital importance as very little actual physical energy is required to carry it on and money does not always determine the value of a collection to its owner.

Often no money at all is involved except perhaps for an album and stamp collecting accessories. A stamp off a letter from a foreign country can be of as much value to a true collector as a rare and high-priced stamp might be to on me who can spend hundreds of us$ to indulge in his hobby.

Just like any other hobby, the real value of a collection comes from the use made of it by its owner. A small collection of a few hundred common stamps may give a greater thrill out of having such a collection than would a rich man who has spent  hundreds of us$ merely to have a 'Display Collection..

Here indeed is a hobby that can be tailored to fit the needs of any individual. One from which almost endless hours of fun, relaxation, education and pride of ownership can be extracted.

Perhaps the easiest way to 'build' a collection is to exchange one's surplus stamps with other collectors. This sort of exchange goes on everyday among thousands of collectors worldwide

How I Overcame The Ups And Downs Of Single Parenting.

Posted by moseszee on June 22, 2010 at 12:50 PM Comments comments (0)

Whatever may lead to it, Single parenting is very detrimental to children even though this  should not be the case. During the initial period, I found it very agonizing and nearly led chaotic lifestyle.

However if you have support group that you are active in, the group could consist of friends and family members or good counsellors, your problems may become minimised.

As a single parent I faced many emotional and practical problems. I had to coordinate seemingly endless tasks and responsibilities, ensure the security of the children and maintain their physical and mental health.

There is no simple way for one person to accomplish so much. However, I tried as much as possible to

physche myself for  the daunting tasks ahead. I did not want to complain about having a  chaotic life style due to single parenting. I did not fall into the trap of working too hard to put food on the table to the detriment of having to spend little time with the children. Even though, it then seemed that the loss of a partner to share in the care of the children could be detrimental.

I came to realise that single parenting provided me with an unique opportunity to influence the development my children without the hindrance that having a partner can often bring. I never allowed myself to be bogged down by the  practicalities of raising the children alone, I believed that the benefits were far outweigh the disadvantages.

As the children grew in age, I allowed them to help make family decisions. We established household routine. They were assigned the tasks that were commiserate with their respective ages. I never said anything bad about their mother. I communicated openly and honestly with the children.

I grew much closer to my children and we developed stronger bond to the benefit of all of us. I discovered that the children became matured early and developed  greater sense of responsibility. I found it much easier to establish guidelines and rules for the children without having to debate them with a partner.

Interestingly enough.my children never had detrimental effects in terms of both their personal and educational development. The loss of a partner also put to an end to our frequent disagreements, arguments and tension that were always the order of the day ha in our household.

How To Teach Your Kids To Save Money.

Posted by moseszee on April 30, 2010 at 2:58 AM Comments comments (0)

A lot of teens nowadays do not understand the value of earning and spending money. They were not oriented that investing is necessary even if they are still students. As

parents, you play a crucial role in this area.

You should be able to teach your kids on how to save money. They should be able to understand the concept of money and investment as early as childhood. This will prepare them to learn money management, as they grow old.

Here are some tips on how you can teach your children how to save money:...

1. Your children should be educated of the meaning of money. Once your children have learned how to count, that is the perfect time for you teach them the real meaning of

money. You should be consistent and explain to them in simple ways and do this frequently so that they may be able to remember what you taught them.

2. Always explain to them the value of saving money. Make them understand its importance and how it will impact their life. It is important that you entertain questions from them about money and you should be able to answer them right away.

3. When giving them their allowances. You need to give them their allowances in denominations. Then you can encourage them that they should keep a certain bill for the future. You can motivate them to do this by telling them that the money

can be saved and they can buy new pair of shoes or the toys they want once they are able to save.

4. You can also teach them to work for money. You can start this at your own home. You can pay them fifty cents to one dollar every time they clean their rooms, do the dishes or feed their pets. This concept of earning little money will make them think that money is something they have worked for and should be spent wisely.

5. Give them piggy banks where they can put coins and wait until they get full. You can also open children bank accounts for them and let them deposit money earned from working or  their allowance. Always show them how much they have earned to keep them motivated.

You may wish to remind them of possible religious demand on their income or the need to be charitable with their part of their income.

How To Be Healthy.

Posted by moseszee on April 30, 2010 at 2:53 AM Comments comments (0)

Let us take a cue from Nature. After our long stay on this earth no matter how long the stay is, we pass on to 'eternal' rest. Whether we like it or not the 'eternal' rest will come.

After work, we need rest. No better way to get rest than through sleep. The whole human body works together. Each part of human body has its own role to play. For example the stomach has a period of rest between meals. So are the other parts of the human body too. They must be allowed to rest too. If we neglect this principle, they become worn out and eventually give us trouble.

When we become tired out and not feeling well, we find it extremely difficult to sleep. What do we do then to ameloriate the sleep deficiency?. There areca few things we may do to induce sleep. We may have a warm bath before going to bed at night. This may be followed with a gentle massage especially along the spine thus relaxing both the nerves and muscles.

Having a hot foot bath will draw blood from the brain with sleep inducing effect. Takin a glass of hot milk or cocoa before retiring to bed may also have a beneficial effect.

If your sleepiness is due to indigestion, a simple diet may be of a great relief. A sleep on a hard pillow less bed may achieve the desired effect. Always sleep in a room full of fresh air and forget about the cares of the day. Instead, you may listen to sweet sentimental music.

You may also try to perform this excise - close the left nostril by pressing on it with the finger, then take four deep breaths through the right nostril. Then close the right nostril and take four deep breaths through the left one. Repeat this about four times. Then breathe slowly through both nostrils, but count your breaths. You will seldom count very many.

Do not indulge in taking any sleeping powders or tablets except upon the advice of a physician, for they usually contain drugs that may damage the heart.

How I Usually Overcome My Stress Periods.

Posted by moseszee on April 30, 2010 at 2:34 AM Comments comments (0)

As a human being, I occasionally have my own tense, traumatic and very stressful anxiety  laden periods. However over a long period, I have come to develop a sort of immunity or system to neutralize some of the consequences of these inconveniences.

You may be wondering how I have been able cope with these inconveniences. Here are some of my antidotes..

Once I have a feeling that I am under stress, the next thing to do is for me to identify, note and analyze the real causes of the stress. My reaction to each stress is to recollect past experiences, approach and compare with the current one.

I do not re-act immediately to any stressful event. I always bid my time. When tension comes, I always ask my inner man(mind) for a solution. I believe he is more intelligent than me. I will let go the past events. I look forward to a more positive future with courage and willpower. I do not bother myself so much about my loss. Instead, I will try to find out the causes for the loss and rectify it.

I face all situations with confidence. I have an absolute faith in God and worship Him accordingly. I always hope for the best and have positive approach to life and all  things but not

forgetting that things may turn otherwise.

Whenever I am tensed, I will take a deep breath and relax.I may indulge in counting from 100 to 1. I will practice breathing exercise regularly I may read an interesting book or indulge in Bible reading. I listen to good music. Devote some time to yoga and meditation. Engage in aromatherapy to relax my mind. Play games and engage in my hobbies.I encourage myself to have a sound sleep with a lot of fresh air in my room.

Have a relaxing body message. I will visit my doctor if I suspect any health problem.  I maintain very good relationship with people and do discuss my problems with close relations and friends.

As human being, stress is part of our attributes and we should endeavor to always strive to contain it with a positive approach to life with an awareness of the uncertainty of life, healthy living with sound personal hygiene. Goodwill and kindness towards all men.

Do you believe that GOD can do it?.

Then let Mrs Yewande Zaccheaus share her personal exprience  with you on how the

Father did it for her.

Read an extract from one of her books......

"I relocated to England in order to continue with my infertility treatment but inspite of

money spent and procedures undertaken we had no positive result. After a while, many

people were complaining that I was not living with my husband and I was encouraged to

come home and undergo the IVF treatment which was being pioneered by 2 specialists in

LUTH. I returned to Nigeria in 1987 to undergo the treatment.

There were 3 of us in the ward that evening to be prepared for the procedure which was

to take place very early the next morning. We have been  shaved in preparation for the

procedure and given the necessary medication. At about 5.00 am, I went into the

toilet to pray I then clearly heard a voice "IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR ME" I looked

around to see who spoke but no one was there. I knew it was  the Lord. I cried out

to the Lord that I believed nothing was too hard but how would I tell my husband

that I did not want to through the procedure after checking into the hospital and

prepared. While I was praying one of the other women was wheeled to theatre and had

the procedure done. After that, the nurses came back to apologise that the hospital

had run out of gas for anaesthetics and myself and the third lady could no longer

undergo the procedure and we should pack and go home. That was the beginnig of the

manifestation of God's awesome power in my life.

Get the copies of  Mrs Yewande Zaccheaus's 2 - part books titled 'GOD's WAITING

ROOM', read them and discover that the same  GOD who answered Yewande's prayers will

surely answer yours.

If you are interested in these books, kindly get in touch with me  and please do not

should try to avoid birthday parties where alcohol is served or

events where wine tasting is the order of the day. There

is a major characteristic difference in the life of an

alcoholic and non alcoholic person. Please try as much as

possible to abstain from parties where alcohol is served.

This may include family gatherings.

You may even let your friends and family memembers appreciate your

current situation. Once they do, they will surely go along

with you. They will be prepared show some understanding to your

plight. Some people may resent the idea of not taking alcohol at parties.

You should not be disappointed if such people fail to turn up. It

is a very risky venture for an alcoholic to find himself in an

alcoholic drinking enviroment. The situation may be embarassing.

You may explore the opportunity of having non akcoholic drinking

friends. Start attending group meetings. From there, you should be

able to make new friends with possible family interactions

where things are done together to the mutual benefit of each

individual member.Explore other possible human endeavors. You

should run from places where you may be tempted to drink.

If you are organising your children's parties, please make

sure it is alcoholic free. Impress it upon the adult guests

at the parties that they are children's parties abd alcohol will

not be served. You may even tell them that there is an

alcoholic problem in the family and you will not encourage

alcoholic drinking within family enviroment.

How Self-Motivation can Help You Save Money.

Posted by moseszee on December 4, 2009 at 11:37 AM Comments comments (0)

Times are hard. The whole world is in a serious financial crisis. There is

no more opportuned time than now for one to explore self motivation as a

tool to develop the culture of how to save money.

You should have enough self-motivation to neutrilise the urge of spending

more than what you earn. Experts agree that if people are well motivated

on the importance of saving towards the future as a concept, there are

greater chances for their success in life.

If you maximise the ideals of self-motivation, no matter the situation, you

will always find a way of saving money. Your developing a simple life style

is the best motivation you may need if you are trying to develop various

ways of saving money. Once you have developed enough motivation to save

money, saving money will then become a pleasurable task.

How then do you then self-motivate yourself to saving money?.Here are some suggested ways I wish to proffer.

1. You should stop the idea of going on spending sprees.Try to cut down on

your purchases for the household e.g grocery. Prioritize the items that are

of utmost importance. Only purchase what you need.Apply this principle on

all aspects of your spending. The main principle is for you to limit the expenses on the items that you really need and keep whatever cash

remaining.

2. If you live in a Country where coupons are the order of the day, you

should endeavor to collect as many coupons as possible. Once one is

motivated to save money, one should not care about collecting coupons.

Explore all the major establishments such as restaurants, cinemas

and even boutiques that accept and give out coupons to its customers to

offer a discount. If you should keeps these coupons, they can get a little

discount on establishments that you usually go to and this would actually

save money in the long run.

3. Your using your car always may not be advisable in view of the petrol

hike. You should maximise the opportunity provided by public transportation.

You will have the opportunity of saving some money not only on petrol,

but also save some more since you will not have to pay for the car's

maintenance and parking.

4. The lesser energy you consume, the more money you will have to save.

Experts believe that if people are motivated to save their energy

consumption. there would be lesser problems in terms of energy usage.

You should make it a habit to unplug cables from their outlets when

they are not being used. This is one of the ways of saving money and

energ through electricity.

Times are hard. Money is not easy to come by. Everybody seems to be complaining of being cash strapped. One should therefore appreciate the concept of saving until things get better. You may need to engage in a balancing act which may be somehow very challenging.

Here are some of the ways that you may explore to enable you learn how to save money. You should set yourself a set of goals which you must strive to achieve.

Your first assignment is to get rid of your various debts. You will calculate your monthly expenses and find out the areas where the necessary adjustments can be made to enable you pay off your debts.

You should keep proper records of both your income and expenditure. It will be appropriate if you put them in writing. You should try to each expense in a specific term e.g. rent, various insurance packages, entertainment, food, gas, phone bill etc. You should balance your records with your receipts.  Always keep the records with you and at any given moment, you should be able to know your financial situation.

Assuming that you are unable to cut down your expenses to make you debt free, you may be required to make additional sacrifices changing your apartment for one with lesser rent, reducing very drastically your entertainment bill and cutting down on telephone bill. You should eat more at home.

You may invite someone  to share your apartment with you with a  view of sharing rent. You should stop using your credit card. Having credit card or more is one of the reasons people run into trouble. The use of credit will attract interest.

You should pay for everything with cash. You may even put a

This type of account is different from the regular savings account and the best part is that the interest rates are much higher. You may explore other options like CDs or money-market accounts for longer savings goals.

Discipline and self-control are the major keys to saving money

particularly during the period of economic recession. If you are

employed, good for you but what about  millions worldwide who don’t and have to live on unemployment checks or aids until they are able to get another jo

It is very imperative that you set yourself a goal and you stick to it. Your main objective is nothing but survival. You have to keep a roof over your head  and food on your table.

You may even seek  the services of a financial expert to help you plan on how to achieve a debt free life. That's if you think you have run out of optionts. It is the job of the financial expert to help you find answers when you think that you are in a financial dead end.. You just have to do your share to make it happen.

What Postage Stamps Sell Best?.

Posted by moseszee on November 26, 2009 at 5:54 AM Comments comments (1)

Your offering good quality stamps may not be as important as offering stamps thatwill sell, collectors will buy or those that are in demand. It is astatement of fact that not all Countries and Topics are as popular as the others. Some Countries and Topics are more popular than the others.

There are obvious reasons why not all Countries or Topics are equally popular. There are some Countries which have large pools of collectors. Postage stamps of Countries like the USA, Western Europe, Scandinavia, Great Britain, the British Commonwealth, Canada, Japan and certain Countries in the Far East will sell. Please explore these Countries.

Many collectors will stay away from those Countries which are in the perpetual habits of releasing too many stamps. The Countries which are guilty  of this include third world and socialist nations.

Topical collectors do not normally pay too much attention to which particular Country has released a particular stamp. The various themes determine their interests. Of interest to the thematic collectors are themes like Flora, Fauna, Ships, Sports, Art, Famous people etc.

You should try as much as possible to stay away from offering your customers incomplete sets of stamps unless they were specifically requested for. The incomplete sets of stamps are commonly referred to as ‘short sets’. Most serious collectors would rather go for complete sets – complete as listed in the variousc atalogues and stamp albums.

You should offer unmounted mint stamps even though you may come across collectors who willbe ready to accept slightly mounted mint.

Cancelled-to-order stamps are no go area for most of the serious collectors. COT stamps for shortare those stamps sold by the Post Office in complete sheets with printed cancels. Collectors prefer postally used stamps with well centered postmarks. That’s if they collect used stamps.

COT stamps may be obtained cheaply and sold to juvenile collectors or to beginners with very good profits.

Any time you are trying to replenish your stock of stamps, be sure to consider the pricing factor. You are in the philatelic business to make profit. That should be your guiding principle.

YOU should offer your customers stamps in complete mint sets and Topical stamps from very popular Countries at a discount of catalogue prices.

If you offeryour customers items based on the above criteria, you have a very good chanceof being very successful.

Okra(abelmoschus esculentus) and Lime(citrus aurantifolia)As A Nature.s Cure

Posted by moseszee on November 19, 2009 at 6:39 AM Comments comments (0)

I wish you were there to see the countenances of the crowd that gathered when I was being treated for a human bite with Okra(abelmoschus esculentus) and Lime(citrus aurantifolia). Some faces looked clownish as if they were about to cry in sympathy to  my ordeal.

Sometimes last year, I was relaxing with a group of elders in a very busy spot along a Ring road passing through my neighborhood with an average age that should be around 65years each. We were sharing our life experiences over palm wine. Suddenly I saw approaching a very robust elderly woman whose features looked very familiar to me. I immediately stood up to have a full glimpse of the woman only to discover that it was Jumoke my Secondary school girlfriend. That was 48years ago. I saw her about 30years I requested that she joined us and she kindly obliged.

We exchanged pleasantries and went through memory lane. It when I wanted to play one of my youthful pranks that I ran into a very serious trouble. It was my attempt to pick an item from her bag and her refusal led to her giving me a serious human bite. By the time I withdrew my hand from her bag, what I saw was blood on the spot on which she gave me the bite. I also felt pain.

As I was looking for my driver to take me to the hospital for  the necessary treatment, one of the elders told me that I should not waste my time going to any hospital. He advised that instead I should look for some raw fruit items and apply them on the very wound. Even though I am well educated, I decided to take the risk by following the advice of the elderly man.

I then sent my driver to purchase both the okra and lime at a  nearby local market..When my driver brought the fruits, they were cut open and their flesh were used to scrub the spot of the bite wound with such a terrible pain and additional oozing of blood from the wound.. Eventually I became relieved of the terrible pain and the blood ഫ്ലോ stopped, I left for home. On getting home, I went to bed immediately only to wake up.

Ithe following morning with very great surprise.

what did I see?. I saw some whitish substance on the wound, which may be explained off as a possible resultant reaction of my body fluid to the raw fruits applied on the human bite.

I later learnt correctly or otherwise that had I faiked to give the bite a very effective treatment, there was the possibility that the wound might possibly become rabid to the detriment of my health.. I have to confess to the fact that I am yet to find out about the medicinal efficacy of both the okra and lime on human beings particularly on wounds caused by human bites.

The treatment  as far as I am concerned was a success.

How I Conveniently Achieved A Weight Loss

Posted by moseszee on November 19, 2009 at 6:18 AM Comments comments (0)

Since my wife went on 3 months' holidays in the U.S, I have completely forgotten the usual weekly practice of checking my weight on the scale not until my tailor told me to WATCH it. I wanted a new complete dress sewn for my friend's 60th Birthday party. The tailor had to take a new measurement of me only for him to tell me that I had added extra flesh to my body. When I got home from the tailor, I went on the scale and discovered that extra 10 kilos were added. I became worried. I knew that I had to immediately make some adjustments to my life style.

The next day I went to consult a nutritionist and then registered with a Gym. After due consultation with the nutritionist, I mapped out my weight loss strategy. The nutritionist told me

point bank that no one can eat junk and unhealthy food one fancies and achieve a weight loss. Drug may be of little or no effect in weight reduction.

I started drinking a lot of water. I drank eight to ten glasses of water everyday between but not with meals. I was taking a large glass of water 20 to 30 minutes before my meals. In addition I also took herbal teas and vegetable juices. I enjoyed taking fruits 30 minutes before my meals.

I started eating regular meals. I ate them slowly and in smaller bits. I made sure that anytime I ate cooked food, I added raw food like salad, bananas, apples etc. I never missed my breakfast. When going to work, I always went along with healthy lunches and snacks. I ate more at lunch than at dinnertime.

Anytime I suspected that I was suffering from stress, boredom, anger, loneliness, depression or any possible emotional discomfort, I would not take full meals. Instead, I would go for juices.

I made sure that I walked a minimum of 3 kilometers every week. On Saturdays, I would visit the Gym. On Sundays, I would go for swimming at the Club whenever I had the time. I was very careful about what I ate outside particularly at parties etc.

I would take supper by 7p.m.and made sure that I went to bed by 11 p.m. in order to allow both my liver and gall bladder to carry out the natural detoxing process of my system. Even though I was not happy with the certain regimented aspect of my weight reduction process and the frequency of my visits to the loo at a stage, I was very determined to achieve my set objective of weight loss. This I did within a few weeks. My set objective has been achieved. I am now as fit as a fiddle

How To Make Money With Postage Stamps - Sourcing.

Posted by moseszee on September 17, 2009 at 10:57 AM Comments comments (0)

You do not need to own a single postage stamp or any postal  issue to start trading in the items as a Dealer. However, you are required to know exactly where you can source or obtain at WHOLESALES prices the STOCK of the various postage stamps and postal issues you may wish to sell to your potential customers.

It is therefore advisable that you have a Stock ready whenever  you decide to start your philatelic business. One of your first asks will be to establish contact with as many as possible - various WHOLESALERS dealing in stamps and postal issues. A wholesaler sells mainly to Dealers. They issue long lists of the various items they wish to sell. The items may be offered per 10, 100, 1000 etc at very substantial discount off the various prices stated in the well accepted philatelic  catologues. You only buy the items you need.

The various addresses of the wholesalers may be found on the Net with the help of Search Engines. They may also be available in the numerous philatelic Journals, Magazines,

Newsletters etc. Please bear it in your mind that some of  these wholesalers may require or request that you provide  proof of your Dealer's status or you provide Trade References. A trade reference is an evidence of your previous succesful philatelic dealing. However most wholesalers will accept orders or requests written on your business letter headed stationery.

Some may also accept your proof of your membership of very reputable philatelic Societies and Stamp Clubs. Another source of your supply may be to encourage your family

members, friends, relations and collegues to give you the stamps on the respective mails they receive and  even the envelopes with such stamps. These envelopes in philatelic parlance are known as covers. Please kindly note that this type of supply even though free is very limited in scope. I would like to advise that you do  not rely on this particular source.

If you know of any offices or places within your locality where  large mails are received regularly, such avenue may be a very  good source of supply point. You may also place adverts in the  various Trade Journals,Magazines and Newspapers in your locality. Good

Auction Sites may be very good sources for specialised materials. Very current items may be procured or sourced at face  value through the Philatelic Services or Agencies of most

Countries.

If you decide to deal in the current issues of  a Country, you are advised to establish contact with the Philatelic Bureau or Agency of the Country of your interest. Please take note thatwhile new issues are readily available, they may be costly and even turn out to be of limited profit margin.I  would therefore like to suggest that you concentrate on older  issues.

n most cases, you may discover that new and recent  issues may be available at less than face value.

You have to constantly replenish your Stock with new issues. You should also appreciate the fact that it is very imperative that you constantly supply your customers with new items.

The most basic key to your philatelic business is acquiring your  items at the right costs and selling them to your customers at the right prices.

MAKE MONEY ONLINE WITH POSTAGE STAMPS - Part 1.

Posted by moseszee on August 17, 2009 at 5:38 AM Comments comments (0)

You need NOT be a stamp collector before you start buying and selling Stamps to Collectors, Hobbyists and Dealers Worldwide. You only need to learn the basics and some of the term used in the hobby. Once you have done this, you are in business.

Postage Stamps for collectors are indeed very appropriate for the very mail-order business. They are very easy to store, easy to package and easy to mail.

Philatelists - that's those who collect and study postage stamps are very discerning people with high quality consciousness. Therefore postage stamps must be handled with the greatest care because no collector, philatelist or philatelic dealer is prepared to purchase any postage stamp that is damaged in any form or the other. Very little damage is required to render a postage stamp useless in the eyes of the collector.

A saleable stamp in whatever form - mint or used must be in perfect condition With complete perforation, clean, no creases or tears and in the case of used ones the postmarks must be very clear. Collectors prefer well-centered stamps. This means that the design area should not be touched or affected in any way by the perforation. The design should be paced exactly in the middle of the stamp. that's well centred.

Most collectors of Mint Stamps prefer to collect their mint stamps in post-fresh condition. Unmounted stamp should be in the form of similarity to the one that may be obtainable at the post office. Those who collect used postage stamps will want stamps with clear postmark neither should the stamp be creased or damaged in anyway. The perforation must be in near perfect condition.

A mint stamp that has been placed in an album will attract fewer prices than the unmounted  mint. This is particularly true of modern postage stamps. It is very interesting to learn that sometimes used postage stamp may attract higher value than its mint counterpart.
